Summer junior working.

Summer every year means that camp season is here! Last summer didn´t bring me any chance to go to any camp as a camper, but I decided to experience camp from different perspective, as a work crew at YL camp in US. This month of hard work was one big blessing for me. I learned so many new things, met gorgeous people and fell in love with God. So when I got an opportunity to be work crew at our Czech camp for younger kids (something like wyldlife in US) I didn´t doubt and said yes! Cause when you love serving people, work crew is the best choice for you.

These 10 days can be explained in four quotes.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. (Mahatma Gandhi)
I didn't find my friends; the good Lord gave them to me. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Without His love I can do nothing, with His love there is nothing I cannot do. (Unknown)
There is only one happiness in life - to love and to be loved. (George Sand)

When you imagine more like a week with your great friends, full of fun and service for young kids and God, I say- What a perfect paradise! Well, as all of us know, nothing´s perfect. But God works all the time.
First days we thought, we´r gonna freeze even though summer already started. Rain seemed like it doesn´t know what "stop" means and temperature was getting lower and lower, but nothing destroyed our plans, just changed them a little bit. Haha.
Anyways our work crew was composed from me, Martin and two Natalies- Naty&Nathy and wc boss Lucy. Working with those people was sometimes the best thing ever, sometimes nightmare, but at the end one big blessing and greatest experience for me. We learned so many things about each other, how to actually listen to each of us. Work crew perfectly teaches you how to work in team, in God-loving team.
I loved our work. Everyday preparing meals, being kind of waitress, helping out at workshops, preparing, translating and describing games, making second dinner and finally delivering it into the cabins. You know, what impresses me the most about serving these kids like that? When you just see the happy faces, the wide smiles, hearing -"I love it here!!", these are the best rewards you can get. Cause this makes you smile too.
I could talk about this week for hours and it would still not be enough, so I picked up my favorite moments, that warms up my heart, which I´m gonna describe you.
It was a night (two days before campers came) and in few hours American team should come, so we´r waiting and doing our businesses. Me and Naty stuck in club room, turned on the funny lights, which supposed to be Christmas lights, turned off big lights and turned our favorite songs UP. Singing and explosions of laugh made me feel comfortable, loved, happy, satisfied. Few moments later Martin joined us and than Nathalie and we could establish work crew band! If somebody would come in, at first he/she won´t understand, maybe will start laughing so bad and I guess also become deaf.
What could made my mood up was definitely  helping out at workshops. First days I helped out at Frisbee, which was amazing. I played with guys and one girl Ultimate frisbee. That´s the time when you get to know kids deeper and make some friendships. All together we had so much fun and everybody was a winner for me, cause I never saw such a fair-play in my life! Haha. Afterwards I helped out at Climbing. This workshop was a little challenging for me personally. When you should show super scared kids how to rappel from bridge down to a river even though it´s very first time you do it, you can´t be the scared one, but the one, who´s show them it´s piece of cake. Afterwards standing in freezing cold river on moving stone for next hour. However when you see the kid´s scared faces, you totally forget about your own worries, you just focus on them, how to make them enjoy the creepy looking rappel, even though your feet have no feeling anymore. Every time I caught them and they stood in the freeze river and they said- AGAIN!, then you just think- Yaaay, mission accomplished.
Those great actions as "country fair" or "obstacle course" don´t need to be commented. You could just see how kids love their cabin leaders! Especially when they protected their leaders against flying water balloons in dark forest or when they tried so hard to get as much little papers as they can, so they can buy one throw of cream cake on their chosen leader. This week I was so proud of my friends, who were cabin leaders. Most of them had a cabin for very first time, but they just did such an awesome work!
Experiencing this week wasn´t easy, but worth it. I never felt so high, when I saw kid´s laughing or smiling. And whole this because of God. I could say, He´s pretty much amazing guy. Haha. And I´m pretty sure, that this week wasn´t the last one, but very beginning of something new.

Keep serving. Keep smiling. Keep loving.
